Let us take you through how Hampta Pass looks in each month
June: The trek starts from June and this is the month which experiences the highest footfall. The trek is lush green and passing the cross is challenging this month due to the high amount of snow on the trail. The valley is lush green and the temperatures are very suitable during the day but it gets very cold at night. In June you will experience the least rain. On a lucky day you may witness snowfall on the higher camps of Balu ka Ghera and Shea goru. The landscapes look very pretty with clear blue skies
July and August. In these months the rains are slightly higher making the trails greener and colourful with wildflowers blooming around. The snow starts melting and crossing the pass becomes easier. As it is a monsoon trek, carry enough rain gear like poncho, dri fit clothes and rain cover. The temperatures are also less colder in these 2 months and it remains among few places in India which can be visited during this period of time. The peak monsoons make everything so beautiful filled with waterfalls, green meadows and the trek becomes like a fairy tale land
September: In September the monsoons are retreating but the trails are still green and fresh. The advantages of visiting in September are lesser footfall and clear blue skies. The Temperature also starts getting colder and the river crossing will give a good chill to your feet.
Overall the trek is good to go from mid June to Mid September and can be planned anytime in these months as per your availability and leaves.
