Badrinath is a holy town and a nagar panchayat in Chamoli district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is the most important of the four sites in India’s Char Dham pilgrimage and gets its name from the temple of Badrinath. The Badrinath temple is the main attraction in the town. According to legend Shankar discovered a black stone image of Lord Badrinarayan made of Saligram stone in the Alaknanda River. He originally enshrined it in a cave near the Tapt Kund hot springs.
The Badrinath area is referred to as Badari or Badarik aashram in Hindu scriptures. It is a place sacred to Vishnu, particularly in Vishnu’s dual form of Nara-Narayana. Thus, in the Mahabharata, Krishna, addressing Arjuna, says, “Thou wast Nara in a former body, and, with Narayana for thy companion, didst perform dreadful austerity at Badari for many myriads of years.
Mana Village which is the last village of India is just 4 kms from Badrinath. People often visit Mana village after visiting Badrinath Temple. There is a huge rock bridge which is used to cross Saraswati river. It is known as Bhim Pul. It is said that Bhim used that rock to create that bridge for Pandavas to cross the Saraswati river on their way to Sataponth. It is also said that river Saraswati can only be seen at Mana Village. There are two caves, Ganesh Gufa and Vyas Gufa in the village.
Itinerary
Day 01: Haridwar to Badrinath, 320 km drive, 12 hrs approx.

*Return to Badrinath.

Day 03: Badrinath to Haridwar, 320 km drive, 12 hrs approx.
*Departure to Haridwar from the hotel after the breakfast.
