Season wise treks in India
India is a land of diversity. We mainly have four seasons – Summer, Monsoon, Post monsoon (Autumn) and Winters. The treks are mainly divided as per the seasons because a lot of geographical factors affect the operations of treks.
Main Factors Affecting the accessibility of treks are:
- Altitude: This is a major factor as almost all other factors depend on this. For example, higher treks open up in summer and autumn and are closed for Winters and monsoons. During winters high altitude treks are not accessible due to access snow and in monsoons they are mostly unsafe. Though high-altitude treks in Ladakh region can be accessed in monsoons as it is a monsoon shadow zone.
- Temperatures: Temperature is a vital factor in deciding the feasibility of the treks. Higher altitude treks get extremely cold in winters resulting in a limited number of treks in winters. The temperatures in Summer and Autumn are mostly pleasant and not as harsh as in winters.
- Rainfall:Rainfall can affect the treks as there are no permanent shelters on treks. Due to this there are only certain treks doable in monsoons.

Considering the above factors here is a season wise list of treks which can be easily done by trekkers
