Dayara Bugyal Trek Itinerary – Day by Day

Day 1: Dehradun to Natin (7600 ft)

Drive Distance: 180 km | Time: 8-9 hours

Route: Dehradun → Mussoorie → Uttarkashi → Bhatwari→ Natin

             Dehradun → Rishikesh → Uttarkashi → Bhatwari→ Natin

Stay: Guest house/homestay in Natin (Triple/ Quad Sharing)

Your journey begins from Prince Chowk Dehradun at 7am with a beautiful drive from Dehradun to Natin. Along the way, you’ll pass near-by Mussoorie through pine forests, river valleys, and remote villages. Evening briefing at Natin prepares you for the trek.

Day 2: Natin to Gui (9,500 ft)

Trek Distance: 4 km | Time: 4–5 hours

Stay: Campsite at Gui

The trek begins! After breakfast, You’ll walk through dense pine and oak forests before reaching Gui,. The day is relatively short and your reach campsite by lunch time. After lunch you trek can relax at the Campsite, go for acclimatization walk, This is one of the most picturesque campsites of the trek.

Day 3: Gui to Dayara Bugyal Summit and return to Gui (9500-12000-9500 ft)

Trek Distance: 7 km | Time: 7-8 hours

Stay: Campsite at Gui

Today’s is the summit day and the most exciting day of the trek. As you gain altitude, you’ll slowly come out of the tree line and enter the vast and majestic meadows. From Gui upto the summit you will see stunning views of Himalayan peaks such as Jaonali, Bandarpoonch, Draupadi ka Danda and Black Peak. Take pictures from the summit and creates memories of lifetime that stays with you forever.

Day 4: Gui to Natin and return to Dehradun

Trek Distance: 4 km | Time: 3–4 hours

Drive: 180 km, 9–10 hours back to Dehradun

Descend back to Natin. Be watchful for your foot movements as the route might be slippery. Once you reach Natin drive back to Dehradun, marking the end of your Dayara Bugyal trek with lifelong memories.

How do I get to Dayara Bugyal?

The trek starts from either of the two villages – Raithal or Barsu. We recommend Raithal as the trek is more beautiful from this village. One needs at least 4 days from Dehradun to complete this trek. Dehradun is the nearest Airport and Railway station for this trek. Raithal is around 180 kms from Dehradun.

Is there snow in Dayara Bugyal?

One can find snow in Dayara Bugyal from December to March. It is a wonderful experience to trek the Bugyal in winters. Sometimes in case of early snowfall one can find snow even in the month of November.

Can we camp in Dayara Bugyal?

Camping in Dayara Bugyal is not allowed. The Uttarakhand High court passed an order according to which camping is banned in Bugyals of Uttarakhand. The order is applicable for all the Bugyals in Uttarakhand.

If you are going on a trek don’t expect mobile signals. There are few spots on the trails of few treks where you might find a single tower or something but it always depends if that is enough to make a call or not.

What happens if there is an emergency?

Every camp site has basic first aid and oxygen cylinders But if a serious emergency occurs, we will evacuate you to the base village and nearest hospital but the expenses of that has to be borne by the individual.
