Auli Overview & Itinerary
Auli is a hill station located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Famous for its beautiful scenery, this hill station is surrounded by Snow lofted Himalayan peaks along with thick coniferous forest. Situated at an average altitude of 2800 metres above sea level, Auli is a famous destination for skiing during the winter season. Equally beautiful throughout the year, one can witness some of the highest peaks like Mt. Nanda Devi and Mt. Kamet, the 2nd and 3rd highest peaks of our country respectively in addition to Mt. Dunagiri, Mt. Mana Parvat etc. Apart from skiing one can also trek to famous Auli Gorsan Bugyal for a better and more clear view of Mt. Nanda Devi.
Auli: Things of Interest
Auli is the famous Skiing destination in Uttarakhand, India during winters. If you love skiing you can plan your journey here during winters. Another famous attraction of this place is Ropeway , you can enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Himalayan valley from ropeway. You can also enjoy camping and trekking in the Himalayas from here. The major attractions of this place are Auli lake, Joshimath-Auli Ropeway, Auli Gorson Bugyal, Vishnu prayag, Nar Singh Temple, Badrinath and Mana village (May to October only), valley of flowers and hemkund Sahib (June to September only).
- Auli Chair lift- It is one of the major attractions in Auli offering majestic snow clad Himalayan view.
- Skiing Experience: During peak winter months one can experience skiing at Auli
- Auli lake- It is located at an astounding elevation offering jaw dropping views of the snow clad Himalayas. It provides serene and calm atmosphere along with Skiing track. You can just sit back, relax and enjoy the mesmerizing landscape from here.
- Auli-Gorson Bugyal- It is an open meadow that offers an amazing view which is also suitable for camping, you can reach here by a small hike. The meadow is spread amidst the forest of oak and conifer trees. It is situated at an elevation of 3000 metres offering beautiful landscape, covered with greenery in summers and snow in winters.
- Nar Singh Temple- It is a famous temple located in Joshimath dedicated to fourth incarnation of Lord Vishnu (Narsimha avatar) in the form of half lion and half man. It is the place where Badrivishal rests during winters, people offer prayers to Badrivishal here in winters when Badrinath is closed
AULI TOUR ITINERARY
- Pick up from Prince Chowk, Dehradun at 7:00 AM.
- Drive to Pipalkoti from Rishikesh via Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag.
- Arrival at Pipalkoti and accommodation will be in hotel
- Dinner and rest at followed by a quick introduction and briefing session with the tour leader
- Drive to Auli and Trek to Gorson Bugyal.
- The trail is of easy to moderate ascend. It generally takes 3-4 hours to reach the Bugyal
- Can Explore skiing (extra cost) while returning based on snow conditions Descend down to Auli road head by evening. Drive back to Pipalkoti
- Overnight stay in hotel
- Leave early from Pipalkoti and drive to Rishikesh/Dehradun
- Expected time of arrival 6:00 PM

Yes, the Trek is pretty safe. The Trail is well made and if a trekker is experienced or follows the instructions of the trek leader there is nothing to worry about.
You can keep extra luggage in the base village for any particular trek. There are no cloak room charges applicable. Its free of cost
If you are going on a trek don’t expect mobile signals. There are few spots on the trails of few treks where you might find a single tower or something but it always depends if that is enough to make a call or not.
Yes, TSS team can organize private batches for individual groups, but the cost of the trek may vary according to the number of members in your group. You can talk to our trek coordinator via whatsapp/call to get the customized group rates.
It’s a strict no. If you fall sick during the trek due to alcohol consumption TheSearchingSouls has the right to cancel your trek and send you back to base village. No expenses shall be refunded in that case and you will have to pay additional for stay at base village.
Start running/walking at least 3-4 Kms everyday.
If it’s a snow trek a good trekking shoe is mandatory. If you buy a new shoe do walk for few days so that it fits you well and doesn’t leave you with blisters while you trek. If it is a summer trek or post monsoon trek a shoe with good grip and ankle support will do.
We provide 3 Veg meals and evening Snacks. There will be no non veg served during the trek. Eggs may or may not be served depending on the trek.
We will provide sleeping bags, inner liners,
sleeping mats, tents. You just need to carry
your personal gear.

Every camp site has basic first aid and oxygen cylinders But if a serious emergency occurs, we will evacuate you to the base village and nearest hospital but the expenses of that has to be borne by the individual
