5 Stages TrailDehradun to Hanuman Chatti
โฒThe first day involves a scenic drive through Mussoorie, Barkot, and Naugaon along the Yamuna River. There is no trekking, so the day is physically easy. You can rest at a guesthouse or homestay in Hanuman Chatti and prepare for the trek ahead. Basic resources are available in the town.
Hanuman Chatti to Kandola Chhani
โฒThis is a relatively easy to moderate day as you begin gaining altitude. The trail may include forest paths, gradual climbs, and uneven sections. You may feel slightly tired as your body adjusts to the higher elevation. Temperatures can become cooler in the evening, and resources are limited once you leave the base village.
Kandola Chhani to Seema Thatch
โฒThis day is moderately challenging due to the increasing altitude and longer uphill sections. The trail passes through mountain forests and open meadows, with some steep or uneven stretches. Temperatures drop as you climb, and breathing may become more difficult at higher elevations. Proper hydration, a steady pace, and sufficient rest are important.
Seema Thatch to Gulabi Kantha Summit and Descend to Kandola Chhani
โฒThis is the most difficult day of the trek because of the long distance, steep ascent, and high altitude. The trail may include rocky paths, uneven terrain, and exposed sections. Cold temperatures, strong winds, and snow or slippery patches may add to the challenge, depending on the season. The long descent can also put pressure on your knees. Good fitness, suitable trekking gear, and following your trek leader's instructions are essential.
