- How safe is trekking with The Searching Souls?
Safety is our top priority! We follow a “Zero Negligence” approach towards trek safety.
- TSS is the only company in the country that set up dedicated medical tents at all campsites, including on high-altitude slopes.
- Our medical tents are equipped with essential safety facilities such as:
- Stretcher
- Oxygen cylinder
- First-aid kits
- Oximeters
- All our treks are led by certified Trek Leaders who are qualified from the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering and have thorough knowledge and experience of the Mountains.
- What safety measures are taken during the trek?
Our team keeps a close eye on your health and trail conditions every step of the way. We track changing weather, carry complete medical and emergency supplies, and maintain a high ratio of guides to trekkers to ensure everyone is well looked after.
We follow a strict no-alcohol policy during treks. We have the right to cancel the trek and send any violators back to the base village. No refunds will be provided, and any additional stay or travel expenses will be borne by the trekker.
- Are there proper toilets during a trek?
No, there are no flush toilets on mountain trails. Instead, we setup dry toilet tents at every campsite. These are private, dedicated tents pitched over a dug pit.
- Is solo female trekking safe with The Searching Souls?
Yes, 100%!We provide a warm, respectful, and secure environmentwith separate tents to ensure privacy and comfort.
- Can women trek while on their period?
Yes, absolutely! Having your period shouldn’t stop you from trekking. Many women complete high-altitude treks comfortably during their periods. Just make sure to inform our team if you experience severe cramps so we can help you stay comfortable.
- Are campsites equipped with medical facilities?
Yes. Every single trek carries medical kits equipped with essential medicines, first-aid supplies, blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters to check your oxygen levels, and emergency oxygen cylinders.
- What if I fall sick or get altitude sickness during the trek?
If you feel unwell or show symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), our team will provide immediate medical care. If necessary, a dedicated guide will safely escort you down to a lower, safer altitude.
- How many Trek Leaders and guides are in a batch?
Depending on the group size, every batch has a p certified Trek Leader along with experienced local guides and support staff.
- Is trekking safe during bad weather?
Trekking in extreme weather can be unsafe. Our team closely monitors weather conditions and may change, postpone, or cancel a trek if needed to ensure the safety of all trekkers.
- Is it safe to trek alone?
Trekking alone can be difficult, especially in new places. However with TSS, you are never truly alone. Our experienced trek leaders and guides are always there to support you, keep you safe, and make your trekking experience comfortable and memorable.
