- Can I really do a trek if I’ve never trekked before?
Yes, absolutely! You don’t need prior experience to enjoy the mountains. As long as you choose a beginner-friendly trek and have basic physical fitness, you will do just fine.
- How fit do I actually need to be?
Preparing for a trek doesn’t require an intense fitness routine, as it involves walking uphill for 4 to 6 hours a day. If you can comfortably jog 3–4 km or walk for 45 minutes without getting completely breathless, you can easily do a beginner trek.
- How do I choose the right beginner trek?
Choose treks which are labeledas Easy or Easy-to-Moderate. These trails have gradual ascents, manageable daily walking distances, and stay below an altitude of 12,000 feet. - How do I book a trek with The Searching Souls?

- What is the age limit for joining a trek?
Generally, our treks are open to anyone between 12 to 60 years old. Only thing that matters is that you are in good health and have basic fitness.
- Will I get mobile network or Wi-Fi on the trail?
Usually, network like Airtel or Jio fade away once you leave the base camp and start trekking. BSNL might works in some spots of few treks. We always recommend letting your family know beforehand that you’ll be out of touch for a few days.
- How do toilets work in the mountains?
This is usually everyone’s biggest worry! On the trail, we set up dry toilet tents at each campsite. These are private, clean tents with pit toilets where you use soil or sawdust to cover up after use. It’s simple, hygienic, and eco-friendly. Just remember to pack your own hand sanitizer and toilet paper!
- What kind of food will I get on the trek?
Our mountain cooks prepare fresh, warm, vegetarian meals three times a day (plus tea and evening snacks) that will give you plenty of energy throughout the trek
- Where will we sleep at night?
You’ll be sleeping under the stars in high-quality, weather-proof camping tents! We provide warm sleeping bags to keep you comfortable, even when it gets chilly outside
10.How many people share a tent?
Tents are usually shared by 2 or 3 trekkersand are allotted on a triple-sharing basis. For couples, twin-sharing accommodation may be arranged, subject to availability. If you require a twin-sharing tent, please inform us at least one week before the trek starts.
11.Do I need to carry trek equipment?
We will provide sleeping bags, inner liners, sleeping mats, tents. You just need to carry your personal gear.
- What if I get sick or catch altitude sickness on the trail?
Our Trek Leaders carry full medical kits, pulse oximeters, and oxygen cylinders. They check your pulse and oxygen levels every single day. If you feel unwell or show signs of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), our team will take care of you immediately.
- What should I avoid carrying?
Avoid packing heavy or unnecessary items such as extra clothes, books, large speakers, or valuables. Pack light and carry only what you need.
- Can I trek if it rains?
Yes. Treks usually continue in light to moderate rain unless weather conditions become unsafe. Carry a raincoat or poncho and a rain cover for your backpack.
