The answer depends on the trekking package you choose, and if by any chance a company offers a “Delhi to Delhi” option, they are simply adding your bus or train tickets to the overall package.

The Journey from Delhi to Dehradun
Reaching Dehradun from Delhi is very easy since both cities are well connected by road, rail, and air. Since the Brahmatal Trek pickup point is located near Dehradun Railway Station (Prince Chowk), you have to reach Dehradun before the reporting time.
By Bus:The easiest and most economical option is travelling by bus.Both government and private Volvo buses operate daily between Delhi and Dehradun.An overnight bus usually costs between ₹700–₹1,100, depending on the operator and bus type. The journey generally takes 5–7 hours via the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway.Government buses can be booked through the UTC website, while several private operators also provide regular services.

By Taxi: Taking a taxi is one of the fastest and easiest ways to travel. Thanks to the new Delhi–Dehradun Expressway, the journey now takes about 2.5 hours. A 4-seater taxi usually costs around ₹5,000, and a 6-seater taxi costs about ₹6,000. It is a comfortable and convenient choice, especially for small groups.
By Train: Travelling by train is one of the best ways to reach Dehradun from Delhi. You can sleep comfortably during the journey and arrive fresh in the morning, ready for your trek.

By Air: Travelling from Delhi to Dehradun by air is the fastest option and the nearest airport to Lohajung, the base camp of Brahmatalis Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun but booking a flight from Delhi to Dehradun is generally not recommended unless you are coming in on a connecting flight from another part of the country. By the time you travel to the Delhi airport, clear security, board, fly, and exit, the total time spent matches a standard road trip.On top of that, flight tickets are usually more expensive than travelling by taxi or bus.
Reaching the Pickup Point in Dehradun
Once you reach Dehradun, you need to report at Prince Chowk by 7:00 AM, where The Searching Souls team begins the trek pickup.
Getting there is simple:
- From Dehradun Railway Station: Prince Chowk is only 700 metres away and can easily be reached on foot or by auto.
- From ISBT Dehradun: Approximately 6 km away. Shared autos are available for around ₹10–₹15, or you can book an Ola or Uber.

Brahmatal Trek: Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Dehradun to Lohajung
Drive Distance: 270 km
Drive Duration: 10–12 Hours
Your journey begins with an early morning pickup from Prince Chowk, Dehradun. The scenic drive passes through several beautiful Himalayan villages before reaching Lohajung. After arrival, check into the guest house, enjoy dinner, and meet your trek leaders and fellow trekkers during the briefing session.
Day 2:Lohajung to Bekaltal
Trek Distance: 6 km
Duration: 5–6 Hours
Altitude Gain: 7,662 ft to 9,950 ft

Trek Distance: 7 km
Duration: 6–7 Hours
Altitude Gain: 9,950 ft to 10,450 ft
On day 3 start your trek towards the beautiful Brahmatal campsite. The trail takes you through dense oak and rhododendron forests before opening into the wide and scenic Telandi meadows. From Jhandi Top, enjoy beautiful mountain views before descending to the Brahmatal campsite.
Day 4:Brahmatal Summit and Descend to Daldam
Trek Distance: 12 km
Duration: 8–10 Hours
Today is the most exciting day of the trek as you begin your climb towards the Brahmatal Summit.The ascent is moderate with a few steep sections, but the reward is spectacular.From the summit, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of famous Himalayan peaks including:

Day 5:Daldam to Lohajung | Drive Back to Dehradun
Trek Distance: 4 km
Drive Duration: 10–12 Hours
After breakfast, descend to Lohajung.The return drive begins around noon.Trekkers usually reach Dehradun by approximately 11:00 PM, marking the end of an unforgettable Brahmatal Trek.
If you are travelling back to Delhi, it is advisable to either book a late-night bus after midnight or stay overnight in Dehradun and travel comfortably next morning.
