Complete FAQs on Booking, Payments & Trek Rules
Planning a trek is an exciting experience, and we want to make the process simple and transparent for you. From booking your trek and understanding payment details to cancellation policies, refunds, safety guidelines, and responsible trekking practices, these FAQs cover everything you need to know before joining The Searching Souls on your next adventure.

- How do I book a trek, and how much advance payment is required?
You can reserve your spot online through our website or directly with our team. For most standard treks, you can book your slot with an advance payment of ₹2,000 per person.
- When do I need to pay the remaining balance?
The remaining balance must be cleared on Day 1 upon arrival at the base camp before the trek begins.
- What happens if the trek is cancelled by TSS?
If a trek is cancelled by The Searching Souls due to unavoidable circumstances like bad weather, landslides, or road blockages, we will provide a trek coupon valid for one year. You can use this coupon for the same trek or choose another trek.
(a) If you select a different trek, the amount you have already paid will be adjusted. If the new trek costs more, you will need to pay the difference. If it costs less, the remaining amount will be refunded.
(b) If you have booked a trek with fewer than 3 members and the trek gets cancelled because the minimum group size is not met, you will receive a full refund along with a 10% discount coupon valid for one year.
- What happens if the trek is cancelled by the customer?
(a) If the customer cancels the trek 30 days or more before the trek date, 100% of the total trek fee will be refunded. No cancellation charges will be applied.
(b) If the customer cancels the trek between 15–30 days before the trek date, a voucher of the equivalent amount will be provided. The voucher will be valid for 1 year from the date of issue.
(c) If the customer cancels the trek within 1–15 days before the trek date, no refund will be provided.
- What is the cancellation policy for international treks?
For international treks such as Annapurna Base Camp & Everest Base Camp, the advance payment made at the time of booking is non-refundable.
6.When will I receive my refund after cancellation?
Refunds will be processed within 1–14 working days from the date of cancellation and will be credited to your registered payment account.
7.What is The Searching Souls’ environment policy?
The Searching Souls follows a strict No Litter Policy to protect and preserve the environment. We ensure that all campsites and weekend getaways remain clean and eco-friendly. Guests who do not follow these guidelines may be fined, and in serious cases, their trek or tour may be cancelled.
- 8. What is the policy for medical emergencies on the trail?
Our team will make immediate arrangements to provide medical aid and safely escort you down to the nearest medical facility if you fall ill. However, any external medical expenses, special transport, or hospital bills incurred are the responsibility of the individual.
- Do I need to sign a disclaimer or medical form before trekking?
Yes. Every trekker must fill out and sign a medical disclaimer form before starting the trek. This confirms you are physically fit for high altitudes and agree to follow all safety instructions given by the TSS team.
- What is the code of conduct on the trail?
We maintain a friendly, respectful, and safe environment for everyone. Misbehaviour with fellow trekkers or team members, or consumption of alcohol/prohibited substances on the trail can lead to immediate removal from the trek without any refund.
