Here’s a quick itinerary that we follow on the Hampta Pass trek.

On Day 1 the trekkers need to report at Manali around 9:00 AM where everyone is briefed about the trek. After the briefing we moved towards Jobra which is around two hours drive from manali. From Jobra we trek to Chika Camp site which is just a two and a half km trek. Chika camp site is at an altitude of 3100 m approx. above sea level. The hike to chika from Jobra is easy and is a warm up for the rest of the trek. On the first day itself you will witness forest, gushing streams and open meadows. We will reach the camp by evening and after some cooldown exercises the team will serve you hot tea and snacks. All our campsites are equipped with medical tents which have oxygen cylinders, oximeters, bp machines, stretchers, ropes, and basic first aid. We are the first company In India to pitch medical tents at all our campsites. With us you can be assured that you are in safe hands. After dinner we call it a day and rest for the coming day.

On Day 2 we trek to Balu ka Ghera which is at an elevation of 3800 m approximately. It is a 6 km trek from chika, we will leave the chika campsite after breakfast and will reach Balu ka Ghera in the evening. Packed lunch will be provided on this day. The day follows a gradual ascend through wildflower meadows. The river crossing on this day will leave your feet numb but will ignite the adventure in your hearts. A small boulder section might make you breathless for a while but the breathtaking views will freshen you up. The Balu ka Ghera Camp site is one of the most beautiful campsites you will ever witness on any himalayan Trek. It is nestled beside a river stream, surrounded by high peaks and views of the snow-clad mountains makes it look like a scene from a fairytale Disney movie.

The Searching Souls team will serve you hot and delicious meals to reignite your body and mind. After dinner we rest for the big day ahead.

On Day 3 or the summit day – this is the most anticipated day of the trek and is the most challenging one as well. Today we Cross the Hampta Pass which is at an elevation of 4300 m approximately  above sea level and camp at Shea Goru. Today the views will change significantly. You will leave the lush green side of the trek, ascend over a glacier, Walk through snow fields, cross the pass and descend down to the barren and arid Lahaul side of the trek. Today’s journey is transformational. The Shea Goru Camp site will give you a feeling of a cold Himalayan desert with a river flowing just beside the camps. Everyday on this trek has so much to offer. After an exhausting day you will reach the campsite by evening. The team will welcome you with hot soup and you can enjoy the feeling of successfully making it to the other side of the trek. Relax in the camps as the trek is not over yet, it still has a lot to offer.

On Day 4 We descend down to Chhatru Camp site and hot lunch will be served upon arrival. After lunch we will drive towards Chandratal which is a major attraction of this trek. Chandratal is the source of the Chandra River and is also known as moon lake. It is one of the most beautiful high altitude lakes in India. It takes around 4 hours to reach Chandratal. We return by 9:00 PM to Chatru and dinner is served at the campsite.

On Day 5 we drove to Manali After breakfast. Expected time of arrival at Manali is 3:00 PM and you can plan your onward journey accordingly. Your journey completes here but the memories will stay with you forever.
