Hampta Pass Trek From Delhi

There is something truly magical about the Hampta Pass Trek. One moment you are walking through lush green valleys filled with wildflowers, and the next, the entire landscape dramatically shifts into rugged, rocky terrains and snow-covered mountain trails. Situated at an altitude of around 14,100 feet in Himachal Pradesh, this trek is an absolute favorite, especially for beginners.

However, when it comes to planning this adventure from Delhi, many trekkers face a common confusion. A frequent question that arises is, Is there a direct Delhi-to-Delhi trekking package available? Well the straightforward answer is no.

No trekking company offers a true, direct Delhi-to-Delhi package. Therefore, the right approach is to understand how you can easily plan the journey from Delhi to Manali on your own.

The Journey from Delhi to Manali

Traveling from Delhi is incredibly convenient. Being the national capital, it is well-connected through all major transportation networks. Since the Hampta Pass Trek officially begins in Manali, your first objective is to reach there from Delhi.

The most practical and budget-friendly way to make this journey is by booking an Overnight Volvo Bus. An overnight Volvo bus usually costs around ₹1,000–₹1,600, while ordinary buses can be slightly cheaper, that is between ₹600 to ₹1000 . The journey takes approximately 12–14 hours, depending on traffic and weather conditions.

Booking Sites: You can book government buses from the HRTC website:

Alternative Options

By Train: There are no direct trains from New Delhi to Manali. You will need to take a train to a nearby transit hub like Chandigarh or Ambala, and then complete the remaining journey to Manali by road.

By Air: You can fly from Delhi to Bhuntar Airport. However, flights to Bhuntar are generally quite expensive and highly weather-dependent with limited schedules, making the overnight bus the most reliable option.

TSS Tip: If you are arriving in Delhi from another city on the same day you plan to leave for Manali, make sure your flight or train arrives in Delhi between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM. This will give you enough time to reach the bus terminal and catch a 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM overnight bus, allowing you to arrive in Manali the next morning.

What to Do Upon Reaching Manali

When you arrive in Manali  head to a local cafe or hotel to freshen up and have a hearty breakfast. After that, you will need to head over to the The Searching Souls Pickup Point. This  pickup point is located approximately 3.7 km away from the main Manali bus drop-off zone, and you can easily take a local auto-rickshaw to get there.

Once you arrive at the pickup point, you can leave all your logistical worries behind. From this moment onward, TSS takes complete charge of your further transportation, campsite bookings, meals, and overall trek management.
