Kuari Pass Trek Itinerary 2025: Cost, Inclusions & Best Deals

The Kuari Pass Trek is one of the most scenic and culturally rich treks in the Indian Himalayas. Be it staying in Joshimath or camping in the lush meadows of Gulling and Tali, the trek’s beauty offers panoramic views of Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, and other peaks. The adrenaline rush that trekkers experience during the summit day on Kuari Pass is unmatched in the spring and autumn trekking seasons.

The Kuari Pass Trek spans 6 days and 5 nights and is available in two variants:

  1. Rishikesh/Dehradun to Rishikesh/Dehradun Package
  2. Joshimath/Pipalkoti to Joshimath/Pipalkoti Package

The Rishikesh/Dehradun to Rishikesh/Dehradun package provides transport from Rishikesh to Rishikesh, whereas the Joshimath/Pipalkoti to Joshimath/Pipalkoti package means you need to report directly at Joshimath/Pipalkoti.

Now let us go through the Day-wise Itinerary for Kuari Pass trek.

Day 01: Dehradun/Rishikesh to Pipalkoti | 270 Km Drive, 9-10 hours

  • Pick up from Dehradun at 7.00 AM. The drive takes you via Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag along the Alaknanda River.
  • Arrival at Pipalkoti/Joshimath by evening.
  • Quick introduction and trek briefing.
  • Check in at a guesthouse/hotel. Dinner and rest.

Day 02: Pipalkoti to Gulling Campsite | Drive to Tugasi Village (52 km), 3 km Trek

  • After breakfast, drive to Tugasi Village (starting point).
  • Begin trek to Gulling via scenic oak, rhododendron, and deodar forests.
  • Lunch and rest at the campsite.
  • Evening refreshments, group activities, and dinner. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 03: Trek from Gulling to Khullara Campsite |5-6 km Trek

  • Post breakfast, trek through alpine meadows with breathtaking views of Dronagiri and Nanda Devi peaks.
  • Lunch at the campsite.
  • Acclimatization walks in the evening, followed by dinner and overnight stay in tents.

Day 04: Khullara to Tali Via Kuari Pass Summit | 8-9Km Trek

  • Early morning start after light breakfast.
  • Trek 6 km to Kuari Pass (12,200 ft) for panoramic Himalayan views.
  • Packed lunch at the pass.
  • Descend back to Khullara campsite for refreshments, dinner, and rest.

Day 05: Descend to Tugasi and Drive Back to Pipalkoti | 4-5 Km trek and 52 Km Drive

  • Breakfast at Tali.
  • Descend to Tugasi, then drive back to Pipalkoti.
  • Stay at the hotel

Day 06: Pipalkoti to Rishikesh | 4-5 Km trek and 52 Km Drive

  • Breakfast at the hotel and leave around 8am
  • Reach Rishikesh around 5pm and Dehradun by 7pm

Cost and Inclusions of the Kuari Pass Package

 

1. Rishikesh/Dehradun to Rishikesh/Dehradun Package

Cost: ₹9500 per person + 5% GST

Inclusions:

  • Transportation (Dehradun → Pipalkoti → Dehradun)
  • Vegetarian meals (Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks, Dinner)
  • Accommodation: Hotel/Guest House on Day 1 and 5 + tents (triple sharing) during the trek
  • Sleeping bags, mats, and camping gear
  • Trekking equipment (microspikes and gaiters as per snow conditions)
  • Experienced guides and support staff

  1. Pipalkoti to Pipalkoti Package

Inclusions Same as the Dehradun package, except transportation.

Trekkers need to reach Pipalkoti Basecamp (Hotel) on their own.

Additional Expenses to Consider

Apart from the package cost, trekkers may need to spend on the following:

  1. Meals during transportation (only for Dehradun package)

    ₹100–150 per meal (Approx. ₹600 for Day 1 & Day 5 combined).

  1. Rental gear (if needed)

   Average: ₹700 per person.

   It is advised to book in advance to ensure availability.

  1. Backpack offloading (optional)

   Around 1,400 per bag for the entire trek.

  1. Miscellaneous/Personal expenses
